The Friends of Realistic are members of the local community who want to and are willing to support  talented youngsters in a worthwhile endeavour. Realistic offers children from all walks of life the chance to enhance their theatrical skills in a safe and secure environment  while filling their free time, which might otherwise be spent in less productive ways. Our cast members also learn social skills and develop an increase in self confidence and self discipline. Realistic particularly encourages socially disadvantaged children to participate in all their activities.  A PLATINUM membership underwrites the cost of one disadvantaged youngster for one year.  Realistic never turns a child away.  Even if they do not want to perform on stage,  there is always plenty to do whether it be helping with set building, costumes or backstage.  The Artistic team, along with a number of dedicated volunteers, work with the children on whatever area of theatre that interest them the most and helps hone those skills.
We are targeting community leaders for PLATINUM membership to enable us to help more children.  As more and more children become involved with Realistic, it is imperative to show these children that the community cares about them and wants them to become successful, achieving adults.  Your PLATINUM membership is a clear signal to those children.

Realistic has never previously actively recruited sponsors. To be able to carry out it's plans for the future, Realistic decided to test the "corporate sponsorship waters". We are proud to announce NatWest as our first corporate sponsor.  Very receptive to our aims and objectives and our future plans, NatWest has agreed to sponsor our 1998 Festival Fringe production of "The Railway Children". We will be keeping you informed as we add new corporate sponsors.
